Serenity Marketing

I went to see The Brothers Grimm at a Harkins Theater, and scored two more Serenity posters.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for Firefly & Serenity material.

And this time around, the movie was actually pretty entertaining.

It ran a little slow in some parts, and some of the more dramatic moments weren’t fully explained or understood (although the implications were apparent to someone who actively remembered things as the movie moved along), but I enjoyed it.

2.5 out of 4 stars, or 3 out of 5.

Okay, we’re now featuring a theme whipped up by Nina, the web genius behind the design and layout over at Slice of SciFi, and who’s also done some awesome behind the front door tweaks and pulls that you’ll see once Dragon Page switches servers.

Cross-promotion is good for the spirit

Last night, I joined Chuck and Kreg from Chuck Chat Technorama, and I let a good chunk of my geek side show.

Go to Technorama for August 28 and hear me geek out, and maybe even put out the call to get Joe on there next, since they’ve now they’ve had 3 out of the 4 core DPers on their show.

They are awesome guys… I almost can’t wait to do that again!

The third video in the Session 416 Serenity viral marketing series has been released, and now it’s mirrored here:

Also, in case fans of the series/movie didn’t know yet, between now and September 1st, you can print out a coupon, go to any Harkins Theatre and purchase a ticket to any movie, show the coupon and the ticket to Guest Services and get a Serenity poster for each coupon/ticket combination.

There is a catch: only while supplies last, and only for Harkins Theatres in AZ and OK for now. Don’t know if they’ll be spreading this out to other areas, but they are definitely testing the waters with this one.

Wanna know how badly I wanted this poster? I went with my roommate last night to see Must Love Dogs (she likes chick flicks, and I don’t). As much as I love John Cusack, that was painful for me to sit through… but I got 2 Serenity posters out of it, so I think I came out ahead.

But just to make sure, we may go check out either Sky High or 40-Year-Old Virgin this weekend, so I can get two more posters.

Something about this Look

…just isn’t 100% working for me. It’s pretty, it’s called Pool, but I’m not feeling it.

We need a new theme, or something, but for now this will have to do. I am not a PHP coder or site designer by any stretch of the imagination.

And yeah, I’m still open to ideas about the site design.
