On Threshold:

Is it just me, or does anybody else feel like it’s getting better?

I started watching it from some distance. I thought (I still think) that the first episode was heavily “inspired” by Michael Crichton’s “Sphere”. I didn’t like the music. The acting left me cold.
However, it was entertaining, so I kept watching. And without a warning I have found myself hooked. I’m starting to actually care about what happens to the characters. The things that I like about the series and that I think are quite original are:

a) The EXTREME measures that the Threshold team are forced to take (don’t want to spoil anything, I will just say Miami)
b) The feeling of “we are oh so screwed”. The feeling that Threshold is failing.

I haven’t liked a bit that time switch. Smells like cancellation.

Doesn’t if figure, you give a reprieve to Night Stalker, but then it gets canceled. I’m surprised it lasted this long. The original only lasted 1 season too.
I hope Threshold will survive the Time/Day switch.

Yep, Gothic came out about 3 weeks ago. I’ve added the link to it’s TVShowsOnDVD.com entry. What an amazing website.

Oh yeah, Miami Vice Season 2 comes out next month, too… Actually, it seems like a lot of shows I’ve been waiting for have come out since October, or will be out in November and December. There goes my budget.

Okay, I’ll admit it – if it doesn’t have rayguns, rockets or robots I won’t watch. Call me a snob, or close-minded, or whatever; but this really isn’t about quality, percieved or actual.

I prefer to call it my filter: I have precious little time for TV. So if the show doesn’t have at least one of the R’s (and preferably two) I’m off to do something else.

Invasion was the second show to be drobbed from my DVR, Surface was the first. Even seeing Lake Bell in her skivvies couldn’t keep me interested. They should have done a 4 hour miniseries from the both shows.

I can’t stand David Caruso so I don’t watch Miami, I even had to turn of CSI: New York because he was on it.

The two other new shows I watch are the new Fox shows, Prison Break and Bones (all be it from torrents). As soon as I got ovet ther goofy hologram imager thing, the show is pretty good.

Threshold is still good, maybe it’ll get more viewers now that it is changing time slots, especially since SciFi Friday will be picking up again in January.
