Show #3: Lord of Light

7

We’re back! We can be delayed, but never kept away too long!

Today, we talk about Roger Zelazny’s Hugo Award-winning novel, Lord of Light, first published in 1967. There are many levels to this book, and we try to hit most of them.

Again joining Joe and myself for this discussion is David Moldawer, writer, videographer, Dragon Page book reviewer, and Zelazny enthusiast.

There’s no image at Amazon for the “Unicorns!” anthology, but if anyone really really wants it, I can scan in the cover image. The collection is 23 years old, and way way out of print. My goodness, will you look at who’s got stories in this collection: Gene Wolfe, Zelazny, Stephen R. Donaldson, Sturgeon, Unca Harlan, Le Guin, Niven, Vonda McIntyre, de Camp, Avram Davidson…

There is a newer collection containing the story “Unicorn Variations”… it might be easier to find My Favorite Fantasy Story than it is to find the Unicorns! anthology.

iTunes didn’t want to update it. Grabed number #3 the old fashioned way. I enjoyed the first two podcasts and I think its a really good idea. Some of the older stuff is brilliant. So keep up the good work.

I think the rss feed might be incorrect.

Downloading it the old fashioned way right now.
All the shows have been great!

  3. Summer says:

Yeah, I found the typo, and I’ve been trying to fix that, and it won’t update. Very interesting.

  4. Summer says:

Okay, there we go… it’s finally updated at FeedBurner, so it should be going out now!

  5. Lan says:

Looks like it is fixed now. That was ninja fast!

  6. Stonemonkey says:

Is someone clipping their toenails during this podcast?

  7. Summer says:

Yes, there was toenail clipping. I wasn’t quick enough with the mute button when I realized just how much my headset mic was actually picking up.

My roommate has since been informed of the vast power of this headset mic, and promises not to do that ever again :)
