1. Oooooooo what a fantastic book. I loved it when I first read it, I have Cryptonomicron to read at the moment. But I really want to hear what you guys have to say on Snow Crash.

2. Awesome! I’ll have to re-read this one. The only downside is that nothing else Stephenson has done quite lives up to this book.

3. It’s been a while since I read this one, but I remember being somewhat unimpressed. The visual virus gimmick reminded me of the general hysteria over weaponized anthrax or ricin after 9/11. Technically, yes — tiny amounts of either are enough to kill hundreds. But in practice, perfect conditions are needed to be effective. The premise (that there are deeply embedded Sumerian archetypes in every brain that can be used as a virus “hook”) just seemed to “Dianetics” for my taste. Maybe I just don’t get cyberpunk. Anyway, I love the shows! I look forward to hearing the discussion on this book.

4. Guys! There are two catchy theme songs that forever haunt me. One of them is the theme from M.U.L.E.–remember that fun little computer game? Almost as addictive as the music. The second is your theme; forever will it ring in mine ears. You bastards. Keep up the good work!

6. This is definitely a kick-ass book. I think it is his best. You enter a mind-bending world that you are afraid to believe is a possible future. I think this world already exists parallel to our own and Neal visited it.
