Free TV downloads available

We’ve been talking about AOL and Time Warner’s new broadband video collaboration, In2TV quite a bit over at The Babylon Podcast, simply because they are making the entire series available for free download.
However, there are some other shows that might be of interest to the KAMN audience: The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, Pinky and the Brain, the animated Beetlejuice, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Wonder Woman, V, La Femme Nikita, and for me (whoo-hoo), Spenser: For Hire.
Yes, I was an Avery Brooks fan long before he became captain of a space station. The Federation uniform does nothing for me, but seeing him in a leather jacket and shades, and in a black on black luxury muscle sedan… damn.
Anyway, we’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback on the quality of the Babylon 5 episodes, so I’m guessing it’d be the same for most of the other series (especially the ones already available on DVD). So head over there and see if there’s anything you’d like to watch for free.
One drawback: their viewing and download system only works with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10, but in an interview with a VP of AOL Video (who’s a Mac guy to boot), he’s said that they hope to have this working for Mac users in the future.

One extra limitation: they require you to use Internet Explorer for the so-called “Hi-Q” episodes.

From what I can see right now I don’t think entire complete series of shows are available, at least not yet. I saw only a handful of episodes available for free from each series. Which is still great, but it’s still better to buy the DVD sets for the shows you really like.

Rico, I forgot one important piece of information.
Over at the Babylon Podcacst, there’s a “Special Edition” episode with an interview with AOL’s VP of Video, and he gave details on how the series would be released online.
In the interview, he said that every few months a new batch of episodes would be released, rotating through all episodes of all the shows eventually. So my guess is that 3 months from now, you woudldn’t be able to download the episodes that are there now, but you would be able to download a new set of episodes.
That was my understanding of how he said things would work.

Color me unimpressed. I can’t downloading them at work and primarily use a Mac at home. I do have an old 98 box but when I heard the conversation on the B5cast it will be useless since it doesn’t have the horsepower to run XP. I am not buying an XP machine to watch some old TV.
Fairly recernt listener Summer and I enjoy the B5 and Slice of Scifi shows. When summer hits full fury down there come up to Flagstaff to do the show, it might be fun for you to do a live show up here
