Ninjas have been Nominated

Wow.

The Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas podcast has been nominated for a Parsec Award in the “Best Fan Podcast” category!

Sweet!

Now we just have to figure out which episode to submit for consideration…

update: Apparently, for the Fan Podcast category, we have to submit a clip that contains 5-minute segments from 3 different shows, so now I get to pick three shows and edit 5 minutes from each of them into a single file.

I’m open to taking suggestions on which 5 minute chunks to pull from the “Blue Thunder / Airwolf”, “Knight Rider” and “Dune” shows.

  1. I nominate Knight Rider. Or maybe Airwolf.

Gratz! I think the Flash Gordon episode was excellent. Also the Bruce Sterling one was very good too.

  3. Michael says:

I second the Flash Gordon episode.

  4. Deadron says:

Many good episodes to choose from…Lord of Light was a good discussion, as was Dune, and BSG…

However, the episode I have mentioned to several people in passing and use as an example of the greatness of the show is “Blue Thunder vs. Airwolf”…

  5. Summer says:

The Flash Gordon episode is ineligble, as it aired after April 30 2006.

I am partial to the BSG episode myself, and Dune, but the Blue Thunder/Airwolf episode keeps being “the referral episode”, so that one’s on the short list now.

    Congrats Ninjas!!!!

I liked Knight Rider, Airwolf and Flash Gordon. I just came back from Comic-Con and got a picture of Flash and Dale together!! That was cool! You Rock!

What sticks out for me was which copter would win a fight, and which pilot would win…

Knight Rider was interesting, as was Dune, but I don’t have clips running in my head from those…

Summer, I would have strongly recommended choosing clips from the “Ladyhawke” episode. I may be biased, because it’s a movie I enjoy, but I found the dialogue during that to flow better and be more engaging, more brisk, than some of the others.

For example, there is a protracted segment where (I think predominantly Joe) is discussing the phenomenon of the two leads transforming into animals which stands out in my minds. Also, you guys talking about how much you despised the score is also quite good.

  9. Raphael says:

Oh my God, I said “minds”.

I really have been reading too much sci-fi — I’ve started to mutate.
