IIRC, it’s technically called the “Renegade Version,” though it’s
also referred to as the Director’s Cut :-). IN fact, Amazon has it as
“Highlander 2 - Renegade Version (The Director’s Cut)”.

I'll have to ask her about it because I really can't remember what she said was different, but IIRC she says that what ended up turning that movie into what it was was probably some kid with a business degree who thought "well, if these unwashed uneducated common idiots can make a movie, I with my master in accounting can do it too." This is why it totally sucks that heads of studios these days are rarely people who've actually been IN the "business" as it were of film making. My Mom says there’s actually another cut of the 2nd one out there that’s not that bad.
