This was a favorite series of mine as a young teen but I found the books unreadable only a few years later.
Still, I might be willing to try again. Do you know if the copyright period is past- could these books one day be found at Guttenberg or the like?
Are there space axes in Galactic Patrol?- someone should discuss them!

To answer my own question, Guttenburg does have some EE smith books, although not Galactic Patrol (so far as I saw, there may be an omibus edition there, add your own disclaimer). The only book in the Lensman series I found was Triplanetary.

The copy of Galactic Patrol that I borrowed from Kris was an omnibus of First Lensman, Triplanetary and Galactic Patrol. I believe it was an SFBC collection, but I can’t recall at this point, since I’ve returned the book to her
