I loved the stories and more the grand Idea of it. I do agree with Hakan and Summer, I find niven can be hard to read in places.
I do however, still find myself daydreaming about the ring world and the idea of a grand space adventure, built on hard scifi, not fluff.

I'm re-reading Ringworld for the first time in over 15 years. I can't believe much of it I have forgotten and strangely, for a Niven book, I am really struggling now. Either my tastes have changed or the new style of writing is really much more gripping.

Arrrghh, never mind. It's been a long time since I read Ringworld, I really don't remember it being as humorous as it apparently is.

Not sure if you were being tongue in cheek or not, I just found this site, but I think you're confusing Discworld with Ringworld. If you did it on purpose, then please feel free to ignore me. thanks

I really enjoyed the book Ringworld. What I liked about it was it's at the time unique combination of hard sci-fi and a great sense of humor. I think in some ways the book was the precursor to Red Dwarf.
