About

The Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas were originally Summer Brooks and Joe Murphy, featured in the Farpoint Media shows Slice of SciFi, Michael and Evo’s Wingin’ It, and The Dragon Page Cover to Cover.

David Moldawer started out as a Dragon Page reviewer, and attained the rank the Ninja Scholar and Scrollkeeper after passing his Ninja Final Exam with flying colors in a brilliantly executed listener ambush. He can also be heard on his own show, The Morning Brew.

Joe Murphy was diagnosed with a virulent cancer in November 2006, and when he became unable to continue recording KAMN shows, Brian Brown and Tim Adamec joined as ninjas-in-training, with Brian taking part in movie breakdowns and Tim taking part in book breakdowns.

Joe Murphy passed away on April 1, 2007. He will be missed.

Summer is the Ninja Trainer, as skilled in the martial arts as she is in the arcane knowledge of science fiction and fantasy in television and film, and she desires to write and produce a kick-ass TV series or miniseries that leaves a mark on people.

In addition to knowing way too much about TV, movies and books, Summer’s also the producer for the ever-growing number of FarPoint Media shows, a writer with a few publishing credits to her name, a Unix systems administrator and website administrator, and a licensed massage therapist.

David Moldawer is a writer, playwright, and videographer living in New York City. A Manhattan native, he graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. in Theater in 2000, and has been writing stories and plays and making videos ever since. His plays have won teeny little awards and notices here and there, and his story, Scotty Buys a Pair of Scrubs, was published in the Portland Review.

Dave unleashes his inner geek in varied discussions, including debating the finer points of Airwolf versus Blue Thunder on the Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas podcast, and he graduated to full Kick-Ass Mystic Ninja status in April 2006.

David works in editorial at a prestigious publishing imprint, and lives with his girlfriend and their dog.
