KAMN Reviews?

Since Dragon Page Cover to Cover has thrown the door open to more contributor reviews, both in audio and print form, I’d like to do the same thing here.

There are a lot of books and movies and tv shows that we won’t get to, or at least not get to any time soon, so I don’t see any reason why we can’t post written reviews here, or include the occassional audio review in a KAMN episode. Same Ninjas rules apply… anything 10 years old or older is fair game.

If you want to submit some reviews, just send them to summer [at] kickassmysticninjas [dot] com or brian [at] kickassmysticninjas [dot] com. Submit written reviews as included plain text, not attached Word docs, and audio reviews should be kept to 3 minutes or less (MP3 format please, to conserve space). If you can’t email them, then use something like YouSendIt.com, or maybe we can arrange something else.

Also, the old reviews I had done for Fantastica Daily (a site that no longer exists) will be online here soon. I will most likely post them with their original post dates, from 2004, so keep an eye out.

First, I know that between June and September, our schedule wasn’t the most consistent it could have been. I’m hoping to fix that a little bit.

Based on our combined increase in workload, we’re going to change things up a little bit. Instead of Ninjas every other week (or as close to it as I can get), I’m going to change the show to twice monthly, on the 15th and 30th of the month.

That said, are there any changes in topic selection that you, the fans and listeners, might be interested in, or are we still good with those?

Personally, I like the 10 years thing… that gives a movie time to fall out of memory, or in some rare cases, a book time to fall back IN to print. The best time to be rediscovered.

Dave Moldawer’s own podcast, The Morning Brew, has been subjected to the BoingBoing.

Yay Dave!

Go check it out, and go listen to the podcast as well.

Andrea's blue for us... Andrea, consummate Wingin’ It and Slice of SciFi and Ninjas fan (and of a buncha other FarPoint Media shows, too) has stepped up, showing us how deep her love for Ninjas runs.

Andrea rocks.

It looks like two Ninjas will be at Dragon*Con.

Crash space was obtained, so thank you to all who responded to my call for help. Not only did I get roomspace, but Joe was also able to acquire roomspace because of all the responses.

Y’all rock. Just sayin’.

Ninja in search of Dragon*Con crash space

Okay, I really was planning on making it to Dragon*Con this year, but after finding out that all the con hotels are sold out, the only way I make it there is to find out if there are any ladies out there attending and in need of another roommate to split the bill.

And no, I’m not sharing a room with the guys, so don’t even ask :) Email me if you or someone you know is looking for a roomie for Dragon*Con.

If I can’t find something soon, I’ll just have to focus my efforts on attending something else this year, and on getting in for Dragon*Con in 2007.

As you may have noticed, you can now preview the shows through your web browser in addition to still being able to downlaod them.

The show should also play nicer with iTunes, now that all the iTunes specific fields and keywords are filled in by the new plugin.

The calendar is operational, but still being populated with information. I should have it linked in later today.

Also, don’t forget… if you’re coming to the shows late and have missed the open comment thread windows, feel free to hop on over to the Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas Forums to continue your discussions.

If you’ve got a userid over there, give us a rating, pretty please?

Thanks to the kind efforts of Brian Stearns, The Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas podcast is now listed in the iTunes Music Store.

So all of you folks who wanted an iTunes quick link, tell Brian “Thank You”!

Thank you, Brian!

Now, how do I get it to use the 120×120 KAMN logo for the store? Or do I have to have Nina whip up a 300×300 one?

update: never mind. I figured it out.

Additional KAMN segments?

December 6, 2005, 11:30 pm | In General, KAMN Network | 3 Comments

I’m thinking about adding a segment not related to the show’s main topic: an old school anime or game review.

Thoughts?

(Yes, KAMN #3 is coming very soon. Wednesday night, if editing goes as planned.)

(Plans. Yeah, right. Thursday night.)

Promos?

October 29, 2005, 3:07 pm | In KAMN Network | Comments Off

I am putting out a call to other podcasters, asking for promos that I can play during KAMN shows.

Consider this that call.

Voicemail and audio comments also welcome… especially since I’d like to pull in different contributors to help out on future shows, based on the topic and who shows interest in chatting about it.

KAMN Swag?

Audience participation time: what kind of Ninja Swag would you be most interested in obtaining?

Mouse pads? Ninja cards? T-Shirts? Stickers? Something different I haven’t mentioned here?
